best side businesses to earn money on the side of your day job in 2022

Today we're going to be talking about nine different side jobs or side hustles that you can start work on them from today. I also share anything with you that you are not making such a huge amount of money with these jobs that you're going to replace your day job and stuff like that.

I think that's a little scam but then I also don't want to share with you those side jobs where you're just taking online surveys making like 12 cents a day or up to 50 cents a day maybe.

So I don't think that's going to be worth your time. But I think the reason that I want to put this out is that I know a lot of you want to be able to save some more money and a lot of you probably want to be able to invest money and even some of you just want to go out on some fun experience that you always wanted to do. So this is going to be able to allow you to do those things and do so very purposefully and intentionally.

So without further delay let’s start with it.

1. Sell Your Junk

                                                             Source; Google Images

So the first one that I want to tell you is to just sell your junk. Sell those things that you don't need or you don't want around your house. Some of the things that I’m talking about are things like bags and purses, things like computers, things like computer bags, things like clothes, like textbooks you name it. These are all the sorts of things that you can just sell and get rid of. Especially if you know without a doubt that you're not going to be using them anymore. Then of course you can also go into your garage and sell some of those things as well things like your old Bikes, bed frames, dressers like you name it. These are things that you have just been sitting in there for months on top of months or even just years and years and you're like well.

They're just sitting there and I think it can even be a little bit more environmentally friendly because, for example, you're going to be moving in the next few months or a couple of years. That's going to be fewer things that you have to lug around or fewer things that you have to throw away when you get to that point. So you might as well take advantage of selling them. It's going to take a little bit of your time to take some pictures of them post them online and then meet up with the person at some Walmart parking lot or something to give them the thing that they just bought from you. I think that can be an amazing first step in or just make a little bit of extra money to save and invest it buy some gifts you name it.

2. Access to other people’s Junk and Sell

                                                             Source; Google Images

The next side hustle you can take advantage of is to basically gain access to other people's junk and sell those things online. Here's what I’m talking about granted you can talk to some of your friends and get access to some of the things that they don't need anymore. You can just ask them if you can help them sell some of the things that they don't want anymore. You guys can split the profits. You can just take advantage of the fact that there is such thing as garbage nights you can drive up and down your streets to see what dresses are out there what tables what you know Chester drawers whatever is out there you can see what you can.

The place where I got this idea was actually from an old co-worker of mine who just wanted to be frugal. How she decorated her home not to say that all of her decorations were from the garbage or anything. But basically, there were some quality things that people didn't want anymore they put on the curb and she actually took those things put them in the back of her sub fixed them up, and then she had those as decorations in her own house. An amazing idea super simple takes a little bit of time a little bit of gas money to make a little bit of extra money outside of your day job.

3. Sports Referee

                                                                   Source; Pixabay

This next one is one that I don't think many people think of too often when it comes to being a side hustle or a side job. But I think this is the one that can pay for your guys they can pay for your groceries they can pay for your car payment right. That is becoming a sports referee of some sort especially for high school and middle school games. A friend of mine is somebody who's been doing this for the past five-six years. He's been able to make a pretty decent chunk of change by doing. So if you're passionate about basketball if you're passionate about football if you're passionate about hockey you might as well make a little bit of extra money on the side of your day job

Then in addition to that, you'll also be able to stay healthy because if you're a referee for basketball or a referee for football you're skating up and down the ice for hockey I mean you're going to stay in pretty decent shape going up and down. So you get to stay in shape while making extra money and being immersed in the sport that you love so much so why not monetize your love in that way.

4. Research University

                                                               Source; Pixabay

This next one is more so for people who live in larger cities or metro areas or you go to a university that's known as a research university. They're doing a lot of research that needs people's help and that's being a part of a research study as being a part of a focus group of some sort. So basically whether it's for products or whether it's for research for just science. People are willing to pay people cash, willing to pay you in a gift card, willing to pay you in food to give your opinions or give your experience about a certain product or about a certain science thing they're working on.

Now obviously this is the one that you want to use your best judgment with I wouldn't recommend going to any of them that are trying to have you take different medications or have you put things on your skin and then you have these issues with that like. I wouldn't recommend those but definitely, something that you want to use your best judgment with because if you go to one of these research universities or you live in one of these cities and you want to make some extra quick cash and you've got some spare time to be able to do it. Why not go ahead and do that and make a little bit of extra money and this one is might be one of the simpler ones on the list.

Because you are just exchanging your time for money and it's not much of a job that you have to do. Just kind of following some of the instructions that the researchers or the marketers are asking you to do.

5. Dog Walking and Dog Sitting

                                                                    Source; Pixabay

This next one is going to be just as simple as the one before. But it's going to be reserved for those people who love animals because if you don't love animals you're going to hate doing this job and I wouldn't recommend doing this job. You know do something that you like and with that said I’m talking about dog walking or dog sitting. I mean get understand like people are busy I think about a couple of different groups of people the first group of people I'm talking about are folks that are just going on vacations.

Then once they get over there they don't have any family to dog sit like they used to have when they were back in their home state or their hometown. So since that's the case they need somebody to take care of their dog when they can't even if it's just going and walking their dog once a day. When they're at work they need somebody that can be able to do that someone trustworthy to do that and that person could be you. I think it'd be highly helpful for you and for them to be able to give that service and they can have peace of mind that their dog is being taken well care of all.

6. Resume Creator

The next one on the list is for those who have a really good eye for detail they're good concise writers. What I’m talking about is being a resume creator. You're creating resumes for other people. The reason I say that is because I think there are a lot of crappy resumes out there I’ve seen a lot of good ones as well. Because I’ve been on certain screen committees in the past a handful of them and I’ve seen some pretty good resumes but I’ve also seen some pretty crappy resumes and I’ve seen some just kind of middle-of-the-road resumes

They're not the worst but they're not the best either and so I think there are a lot of people who are amazing at writing resumes. That is a skill that is needed especially when people are wanting to work up the corporate ladder or people that are coming out of college and want their first job. You might as well have a resume well put together and people are willing to pay top dollar to help somebody create their resume or to edit their resume

7. Monetizing Your Skills

                                                                 Source; Pixabay

The next one is pretty fun to think about and it might even cause you to be a little bit more introspective about the things that you love to do. Because what I’m talking about here is just monetizing your skills so it's kind of similar to the last number in terms of your good writing you can help people create their resumes and stuff like that. But this one is just monetizing any sort of skill that you have that you think other people are willing to pay for.

It can go as far to the left as from the right but basically, there's a couple of them that I want to give an example of and so if you are an audio editor if you are a video editor you can help people to do those same things like some people don't have time to edit audio or don't have time to edit video. They want to be able to have someone help them with their video editing and help them with their audio editing stuff like that. I think you can help them with that and then I think about people who are musicians right also kind of more so on the artistic side.

But if you are someone who plays guitar you're someone who plays the drum set you're someone who plays whatever instrument out there. There are going to be people all over the world that want to learn the instrument that you're playing. So might as well hop on Upwork might as well hop on fiverr.com become someone that can be a teacher essentially and get paid for the work.

8. Instacart Shopper

This next one here is pretty straightforward and one that you've probably heard before. The one I’m talking about here is similar to Uber it's similar to Lyft it's similar to grub hub and uber eats. Talking about being an Instacartshopper. For those people who are not able to feel very comfortable out in the elements through the pandemic and everything they just want to stay at home. You can help those people have their groceries shop for and then deliver them to their home and then I think about also those people that are just incredibly busy.

People that are working 50 60 70 plus hours at work and then on top of that they're on a board and then on top of that they have some other volunteer opportunities that they want to be a part of because they just love their community. You can help them shop because the only time that they have to shop quote unquote is by being on their phone in between meetings selecting the things that they want and they just want those groceries to be directly delivered to their house. You might as well help those people out there's always going to be a need for things like that because people just want more efficiency in their life. So might as well be the person to help with that efficiency by being an Instacart shopper

9. Buy Bulk and Sell Individually

                                                                   Source; Pixabay

This last one here on the list is probably going to take the most work and might just be the most difficult. Depending on what resources you have depending on who you know depending on how you go about doing this but what I’m talking about here is to buy bulk and sell individually. You can do this out of your house you can do this out of your garage or you could do it online. I have done a little bit of both I’ve done a little bit of eBay and I’ve done a little bit of Amazon where I was a third-party seller for Amazon

But I wanted to see if it could be done and I got other work that I got going on as well. So I didn't want to dedicate the amount of time that it took towards that because I wasn't passionate about it. With that said I think what you could do is probably sell on Amazon sell on eBay to make that happen or if you just know suppliers in your area for certain products that you want to sell, you can see how you can buy a bunch of them for super cheap per unit and then sell those either online or from your house.

Once you figure out how to do it can be relatively profitable and not say it's going to replace your nine to five. But it has the potential to but I don't want to promise that that's going to be the thing and just know that this was going to probably take the most amount of time out of all of the other ones that I talked about just because of the learning curve. You're doing this is so that you can save a little bit of extra money.

Last Thoughts

When you earn money keep that in mind as you start to make more money. Because what I don't want to happen and what you wouldn't want to happen is to say I’m doing this to save more money and you end up making the money and just spending it in other words not aligning with the result that you were hoping to accomplish, to begin with. So I hope all this was helpful. You learned something to remember to leave a comment.
